Home Square Cymax was founded in 2004 by Arash Fasihi as a small audio-video furniture web site. After becoming frustrated with the selection available in local stores, Arash turned to the internet to find a high TV stand. Realizing he had found a strong market opportunity, Arash decided to fill the gap himself, providing consumers with a wider selection of furniture by selling online. Focusing primarily on TV stands, the very first Home Square Cymax site—Audio-Video-Furniture.com—was born.
Building on the success of that site, Home Square Cymax developed a huge selection of home furniture, later adding products including consumer electronics, fireplaces, housewares and home décor accessories. Eventually the number of niche web sites grew to 115, but these have since all been consolidated into one all-encompassing site at Home Square Cymax.
In 2010, Arash was nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Pacific Region, Business to Consumer Category.
After consolidating its web stores, Home Square Cymax re-focused on offering furniture for home, outdoor, and office settings.
